Meet the team!
We are a trio of passionate co-founders on a thrilling quest for grants and funding, determined to bring our interactive picture books to life. Think of us as your playful guides through the magical world of reading, where each page is an adventure waiting to happen!
Co-founder
Irmak was born into a family of teachers and educators. She decided to work on publications and creativity for kids, inspired by the work her mother and grandmother have done at their centre for kids with disabilities.
She completed her Bachelors degree in child development and communication and design. She then moved on to work as an editor at a major Turkish publisher and focused on editing and translating children's books. Unhappy with the quality of educational material for children, she decided to work on her own material.
She moved to Rotterdam to hone her craft and completed her Masters in Experimental Publishing.
She is passionate about learning and teaching and how to make readind more interactive for children. Her work examines knot theory implications in narratives, phonetic transcriptions and inscription. She enjoys using coding as an art form, open source and digital tools in expanding or exhibiting her work. She simultaneously manages a literary publication for young writers which is supported by International PEN: Ilkyaz Young Literature Platform.
Co-founder
April is a designer by day and an adventurer by night. She likes to get lost in all sorts of worlds, including books, movies, TV shows, and sometimes other people's life stories. Graduating with a literature degree, she knew she would not be following the well-trodden paths.
Although it took some time, April has embraced her quirky brain and is embarking on a beautiful journey. As the designer and co-founder of Nabu Tales, she hopes to help growing humans gain agency, get to know their own uniqueness, and have compassion for all beings, starting from themselves.
Technical Co-founder
Baran is a software engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He has a passion for developing web applications and constantly exploring new technologies. Baran enjoys the challenges that come with coding and is always eager to learn and implement the latest trends in tech.
At Nabu Tales, he is committed to bringing his technical expertise to the team, contributing to the creation of innovative digital experiences for young users. Whether it's crafting seamless user experiences or optimizing backend processes, Baran approaches each project with curiosity and dedication.
